Maria in Lima - Peru
|
Hi! I'm Maria, from Lima, Peru. You met my mother few days ago, in a supermarket called Wong in Miraflores.
I think you've had a superb idea by doing this, it's amazing. When my mum told me about it I couldn't believe it! And it seemed to me such an incredible thing to do that i'm now doing an english project about you!
Hope you didn't have much problems with the robbery, it's a pity that in this country people are like that. If you are still in Lima you should visit all the great things that are here, and probably you'd be surprised because everything is not poverty!
take care of yourselves and hope you have no more problems in your trip, specially in Peru. bye!

Hi. My name is Katie. Guess what? Annie and Dick are my grandparents!! I found your site from a thing in the newspaper, and then I saw my grandma and grandpa on your site! lol. Ol grandpa Dik's funny, huh? What parts of the place did you see? I know you saw the shop, and of course your rooms..lol, and the deck with the tub. You met the boy on the right side of the shop, right? Ive only seen him a few times (I don't go to locke alot). He's cool:) did you go in the museum (its, i think, two houses from the shop)? They have some really really old chinese money in there, its great. Oh, and is that big dog by the bar still there, and the one by that house near the restaurant? both of them are old, so i just wanted to know: P how far past locke did you go? just wondering. well, i hope you had agood time there:D katie

Weather in Finland
|
Dear Pat & cat Patterson
It's nice to hear that you are coming back to Finland, I have been visiting in yours website, and notice that you have some problems in our way, but every thing seems to be ok now. You are asking about weather here in Laihia, some of days its very nice sunny shine, but mostly sunny is not shining. In this morning sun come up at 07.00 AM and goes down at 06.00 PM. And its not shnowing any more so much than one month I go, now have gone two weeks that we dont have snowing at all. All roads are quite slippery at morning time but in day time if sun comes out roads are quite dry. But you have to remember if start snowing, riding well be very difficult. And all main Roads are quite Ok, but all small roads are very ice and slippery. This Snow situation is like this that we have 30 cm snow at the fields. I just Check this 5 days weather forecast and its look like that we every day -5 to -3 Celcius, so its not warm, and one thing more if its windy day this -5 will be feel same like -10 and this is good to remember. And this weather Forecast promise that in friday will snowing. Thank you for asking my trip in California, that trip goes fine and get lot of infomation about my products what i sell here in Finland. I hope that this information helps in our way here to Laihia.

Hi to both of you !
So, how have you been? Are you still having as much fun? Because this must be the main reason for it all, no? Otherwise, some days it must be very difficult to keep going!
This morning, the thermometer was 26 below 0 when I left for work with the wind blowing so hard that it was hard to walk to the bus stop... I am dreamimg of the beautiful days of spring and summer to come soon!
Wishing you the best
Lucie

Hello Cat, Hello Pat
Back in belgium, we went to visit your website of course : great indeed! Yes : B.E.L.G.I.U.M, it's not Holland (...they only do better public-relations tere !) Nice to wee the souvenir-picture of our meeting in Marbella there also. Are you going through France all the way up to Belgium before you'll jump to Africa? Of course it isn't the best place in the world in the early season here, but soon it get's better from week to week and it would be nice to welcome you in our home. And by-the-way we could do "you must be crazy" in Dutch ! France, as you will agree is awfully beautiful from south to north, and vice-versa. Just now we're going to leave for a week with our daughter in northeast Germany ! And while staying (and working !) at home from march 9 till about april 3, we planned our eastern-holiday in northern Italy. As of april 20, we'll be home again up to mid-july. But then maybe you will be cycling the Sahara (huugh !) Hope to hear from you soon !

Regards from Canada

I met Pat & Cat in Brockville Canada last fall, we had a brief chat on a warm fall evening. Pat was taking pictures of the town at night, and since I am a photographer we started talking and they told me their story.
I had forgotten about them until I found their email ID in my papers today. I was just checking in on their progress, and was surprised to hear that Pat was "hit by a truck in Portugal". It is nice to learn that they are riding smoothly again.
Thanks Best Regards Larry

Hi Pat and Cat,
I just finished reading your latest journal entries..........fascinating and colorful....every word. The movies are great and the still photos of Portugal are really stunning! Great work. It really brings the scenery, culture and customs alive for us land locked Rocklinians. In fact, I've gone back several times to pour over your photos of the towns and countryside. They truly are lovely. The weather here has been as nasty as some of the days you describe. Wet and gloomy and definitely colder than good ole Oxnard.
It sounds like you two continue to extract every bit of fun and excitement out of your travels and you are developing a large collection of friends. It seems like you hook up with somebody interesting in very town you visit.
Good luck, good riding and may your road be level and dry all the way to dark.
Abrazos,
Mike n Kat
